Laugarfell sits in the highlands east of Vatnajökull National Park, about an hour from the Ring Road near Egilsstaðir. Two traditional stone-built pools are fed by a natural hot spring — a larger pool around 37-39°C and a smaller, hotter pool around 42-44°C — with views toward Mount Snæfell. The site includes a highland hostel and is open to visitors from June to September; local tradition credits the water with healing properties.
