Sultaniye Thermal Springs and Mud Baths

Las Termas y Baños de Barro de Sultaniye se encuentran sobre una falla geológica en la base del monte Ölemez, en la orilla suroeste del lago Köyceğiz, en la provincia de Muğla, cerca de Dalyan. El lugar ha atraído visitantes durante más de dos mil años y sigue siendo uno de los centros de curación más antiguos de la región en uso continuo. Sultaniye Thermal Springs and Mud Baths sit on the fault line at the base of Ölemez Mountain, on the southwestern shore of Lake Köyceğiz in Muğla Province, near Dalyan. The site has attracted visitors for more than two millennia and remains one of the region's oldest continuously used healing centers. Water emerges at 39-42°C and carries sulphur, iron, calcium, potassium and radon, giving it the characteristic rotten-egg odor associated with sulphurous springs. Visitors bathe in domed indoor pools and outdoor thermal pools, and coat themselves in the mineral-rich mud, traditionally used for rheumatic conditions, skin ailments, muscle pain and stress relief. The springs are typically visited as part of a boat trip from Dalyan through the reed-lined waterways of the Köyceğiz-Dalyan wetlands.
