Wai Ariki Hot Springs & Spa

Wai Ariki Hot Springs & Spa abrió el 15 de junio de 2023, inaugurado oficialmente por el entonces primer ministro Chris Hipkins, a orillas del lago Rotorua. Es propiedad del iwi local Ngāti Whakaue, que lo describe como la encarnación de la razón por la que Rotorua se estableció originalmente como ciudad geotermal. El spa toma agua rica en minerales directamente del campo geotermal de Rotorua, con piscinas que, según se informa, van de unos 30°C a 41°C, además de un baño frío y una sala de hielo. Su experiencia de varias etapas 'Restorative Journey' incorpora piscinas geotermales, barro mineral y baños de hierbas con plantas autóctonas, construida en torno a las tradiciones curativas maoríes y la manaakitanga (hospitalidad y cuidado).

Wai Ariki Hot Springs & Spa opened on 15 June 2023, officially opened by then Prime Minister Chris Hipkins, on the shores of Lake Rotorua. It is owned by the local Ngāti Whakaue iwi, who describe it as embodying the reason Rotorua was first settled as a geothermal city. The spa draws mineral-rich water directly from the Rotorua geothermal field, with pools reported to range from about 30°C to 41°C alongside a cold plunge and ice room. Its multi-stage 'Restorative Journey' experience incorporates geothermal pools, mineral mud and herbal bathing with indigenous plants, built around Māori healing traditions and manaakitanga (hospitality and care).

ワイ・アリキ・ホット・スプリングス&スパは2023年6月15日に開業し、当時のクリス・ヒプキンス首相によって正式に開所式が行われた、ロトルア湖畔の施設である。地元イウィのンガティ・ファカウエが所有しており、ロトルアが地熱都市として最初に定住された理由そのものを体現する存在だと説明している。このスパはロトルア地熱地帯から直接ミネラル豊富な水を引いており、プールの温度は約30℃から41℃と伝えられ、水風呂とアイスルームも備える。複数段階からなる「リストラティブ・ジャーニー」体験は、地熱プール、ミネラル泥、在来植物によるハーブ入浴を組み合わせ、マオリの癒しの伝統とマナーキタンガ(もてなしと配慮)を軸に構築されている。
