Thermae-Yu is an urban onsen facility in Tokyo's Kabukicho, open around the clock and offering a mix of carbonated baths, open-air baths, and saunas. Its signature bath uses genuine natural hot spring water, a sodium sulfate spring, trucked in daily from Naka-Izu on the Izu Peninsula, drawn from roughly 1,500 meters underground, and marketed locally as 'bijin-no-yu' (water for beautiful skin).

Culture

The facility positions itself within Tokyo's urban sento (public bath) culture while distinguishing itself by trucking in genuine natural onsen water daily rather than relying solely on heated tap water, a practice shared by a small number of Tokyo bathhouses.
